The importance of reducing emissions when using a wood burning stove and improving the quality of air is paramount to building a greener future. The new Eco Design Ready scheme will be overseen by HETAS and supported by DEFRA. Ecodesign is the European Union’s programme to help lower emissions across Europe, there are plans for emission limits on biomass appliances, this part of Ecodesign is known as Lot 20.
The legalisation is due to be implemented in 2022 and cover a broad range of emissions including CO, NOx and CO.
Independent research conducted by Kiwa Gastec on behalf of the Stove Industry Alliance (SIA) has shown that modern clean burning stoves, designed to meet the new Ecodesign requirements will reduce particulate emissions by 90% compared to an open fire and by 80-84% compared to an old stove.
All our Ecodesign compliant wood burning stove prices include VAT, delivery to the mainland UK and a selection of free offers.
