Glamping & Small Stoves Explained

There is nothing quite like a warming up in a small cabin with a woodburning stove on the go.

The metal body of the stove will take a little while to heat up, but once done so, will radiate out and fill all corners.

Not only will they keep you toasty, but will also satisfy that inner desire to tend to a fire!

With cabins, Shepherd's huts, home offices, and glamping units becoming more popular, there has been a rise in interest in installing wood burners as an attractive and functional heating solution. The vast majority of the stoves we sell are designed for regular or larger size rooms and generate a fair amount of heat. The typical stove would be too larger and overpowering. You would generally need a smaller size stove - and some do come with a few optional accessories to add to both the usefulness and charm.

Before choosing a stove it's important to consider important legal and safety requirements.

It's vital you confirm with your local council what you can and can't use - but whatever the rules state, we would recommend both a DEFRA-approved and Eco Design certified stove. These have been designed to burn much more efficiently than the older stoves and produce much less smoke with a cleaner burn.

With most smaller structures being wooden, it is also extremely important that the correct kit and distances are adhered to. We would always advise getting any work done by a fully qualified HETAS installer rather than a DIY project. Alongside meeting government regulations, safety would be a high priority - even more so in smaller rooms potentially made from more combustible materials.

We should have all the parts your installer would need to complete a full install, including a twin wall flue system. So, let's take a look at the stoves you might wish to consider!
