Why You Should Buy a Pit Boss Grill

If you’ve decided to take the plunge and invest in a wood-fired pellet grill then a Pit Boss barbecue should be a consideration. In this article, we’ll walk you through why buying a Pit Boss grill could be right for you.

About the Pit Boss Brand

Pit Boss is a barbecue provider, offering wood pellet, gas, charcoal and combination-fuelled grills, barbecues & food smokers. The company was founded in 1999 by Dan Thiessen and is based out of Alberta USA.

Pit Boss Grills position itself in the market as an affordable pellet grill option to compete with some of the other top brands in the industry like Traeger & Broil King. They also produce another popular brand called Louisiana pellet smokers that you may have heard of.

Each barbecue and grill is designed in-house by their highly talented team of engineers and category experts, with quality and authenticity in mind. You’ll find Pit Boss grills sold in 35 counties which more recently now includes the UK!

Are Pit Boss Grills Worth the Money?

Pit Boss grills and barbecues are excellent value for money, with prices starting at around the £500 mark you’re getting some serious bang for your buck and here’s why. We would describe Pit Boss wood pellet grills as outdoor ovens that can smoke food as well as cooking it evenly to accurate temperatures. They are the most versatile BBQs on the market today and can produce better results than standard gas & charcoal barbecue grills.

If you’re searching for a barbecue with a high level of control & performance then a wood pellet grill from Pit Boss is absolutely worth the money. The drawback is that you will likely pay a little bit more than you would for a standard charcoal or gas BBQ.

What are the Best Pellets for a Pit Boss?

To ensure you’re getting the best performance out of your Pit Boss, we always recommend using Pit Boss or Louisiana Grills branded pellets.

The flavoured hardwood pellet fuel you can buy includes some fabulous and distinctly flavoured blends. You can achieve some bold and robust aromas that work whilst cooking all sorts of different food; some of the 9 kg bags of pellet flavours include whiskey, hickory, cherry & apple.

We stock a great range of fuel you can use on Pitboss wood pellet BBQs and their ceramic charcoal barbecues. You can shop the full range of barbecue fuel we sell here.

How Long is the Pit Boss Warranty?

All Pit Boss Grills are backed by a 5-year warranty and the griddles come with a 2-year warranty. The warranty begins at the date of the sale and covers you against any workmanship defects on parts and any electrical components.

The average Pit Boss pellet grill should last between 7-10 years, depending on how often it is maintained and how it is covered when not in use. A cheaper pellet grill would likely only last between 2-4 years, cheap materials used are more likely to malfunction or wear down over time.

Pit Boss grills use high-quality steel when constructing each pellet grill. They are super easy to maintain and clean, which helps produce a consistent and flavourful smoky taste to your food without too much effort. To get the best out of your Pit Boss grill and to ensure it lasts a long time ensure the correct fuel is used, clean it regularly and cover your grill when it is not in use.

How Often Should You Clean a Pit Boss Grill?

Pit Boss recommends that you clean your grill after running 18 to 27 kg of fuel through the hopper. To clean your grill, you can use a vacuum cleaner to remove ash from the ash collector and bottom of the grill, ensure you scrape any grease from your broiler and wipe down the grill with a light degreaser.
