Do I Need Planning Permission for a Twin Wall Flue?If you live in the UK, you don’t need any prior planning permission to install a twin wall chimney flue. An exception would be if you live in a listed building. In this case, you would likely need to get permission to alter the external appearance of your home.
Does a Twin Wall System Get Hot?A twin wall flue system has a layer of insulation so it is much less hot to touch than vitreous enamel stove pipe. Double wall flue pipes can still be hot to touch especially at the lower end of the system. Typically, the higher the flue goes the less heat there is.
