Does a Twin Wall System Get Hot?A twin wall flue system has a layer of insulation so it is much less hot to touch than vitreous enamel stove pipe. Double wall flue pipes can still be hot to touch especially at the lower end of the system. Typically, the higher the flue goes the less heat there is.
